PRP Therapy
PRP Therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy) has become a standard nonsurgical Hair Restoration Procedure that has proven to be effective for certain types of hair loss in men and women. PRP is a part of our whole blood and is the part that contains important growth factors responsible for healing. PRP has long been used in the Dental and Orthopedic industry to improve healing of tissue and join injuries. PRP therapy for hair loss requires a small blood draw followed by the separation of the Platelets from the rest of the blood using a centrifuge. After separating the blood the PRP is then injected into the area of hair loss. Results can be seen within as little as 3-months, a minimum of 3 annual treatments is recommended for best results. PRP Therapy can also be combined with the NeoGraft (FUE) Hair Restoration method to improve the results of the hair transplant and can be helpful in the healing process of the donor site as well as the grafts. When combined with NeoGraft, the PRP is usually injected 2-3 weeks prior to the procedure, and then again a few months after the hair transplant. Exact time frame will be determined by our medical director Dr. Monte Slater and varies from patient to patient.
